ASI provides construction management and project management/project control services to public agencies and private sector clients. The firm enjoys a solid reputation as a pro-active manager of capital projects and has attracted to its staff a full complement of highly competent professionals dedicated to our client’s success. We recently expanded our design division to include civil, structural, architectural and electrical design. Our group of exceptionally skilled and passionate professionals have particular expertise in earthquake engineering, retrofit innovation, bridge design, building renovation, advanced simulations, non-destructive testing and security systems design. ASI, established in 1987, is a minority-owned small business enterprise, certified by the California Unified Certification Program and other public agencies including San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART). We also perform project management oversight (PMO) work for FTA at more than a dozen transit agencies throughout the United States. ASI focuses on safety; conformance to contract documents; and bringing the project in on time, within budget, and without claims or litigation. Project Management/Project Controls ASI has been providing project management, cost estimating, scheduling and cost engineering with seasoned and credentialed professionals for over 20 years. Many of our staff are licensed professional engineers and have 30 to 40 years of experience. The main reason for our success is our attention to detail and preparation at the beginning of a project. We appreciate that major problems can be avoided by properly setting up a project and following through with appropriate quality control measures. ASI staff also recognize the importance of developing a work breakdown structure that allows our clients to understand and report important project information to all levels of management, stakeholders and the public. Cost Estimating: ASI has established a sound reputation throughout the industry for estimating based on delivering supportable, quality estimates in a timely and professional manner. Our high-quality, certified cost engineers prepare thorough and accurate programmatic estimates for budgeting purposes, estimates for all phases of design, final bid estimates, hard bids and estimates for change orders. Not only do we maintain an extensive database of labor, equipment and material pricing, we are also aware of local market conditions. We use this information to assess risk and adjust the estimates accordingly. ASI has helped our clients avoid huge disparities between estimates and bids by providing a thorough, detailed review of engineering documents. Scheduling: ASI has effectively used basic and advanced scheduling techniques to provide our clients with the information they need to successfully manage their programs, design projects and construction projects. We understand the importance of a work breakdown structure that is tailored to meet the demands of providing a clear and concise depiction of the project/program to many levels of management, stakeholders and public. We maintain cost engineering data in electronic form and tailor reports to meet client requirements. These reports usually include data related to costs, budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts and involve an analysis of earned value from both a cost and schedule standpoint. Engineering Design Our newly formed design division is quickly developing a reputation for innovative and specialty design work in the areas of earthquake engineering; structural analysis and design, including non-destructive testing; marine and surface barrier design, simulation and testing; and building renovation. ASI employs a group staff of highly-dedicated/determined engineers, designers and drafters whose focus is on providing the most cost-effective solution and are fully capable of performing all your civil/structural and related engineering services. We have formed strategic alliances with several key engineering, testing, and manufacturing firms to provide a full-service approach where needed. We utilize our knowledge and experience to satisfy the client's expectation without sacrificing quality and of course, safety. Our vast broad-base background of knowledge allows us to perform and participate in every conceivable phase for the project from its initial concept to its final design and beyond.
